Independent tests put Kimi K3.1 Pro fourth of 215 models, but slow and verbose

Artificial Analysis scores Moonshot's new model 55 on its Intelligence Index, fourth of 215 and on the price-performance frontier at $2/$10 per million tokens. The catch: it burned 150 million output tokens on the suite, against an 87 million median, and streams at 73.5 tokens a second. Weights are still pending.

The authors disclosed using Consensus AI and ChatGPT; the publisher is investigating. A reminder that citation checking belongs inside any research agent's loop, not after publication.

TechCrunch's AI graveyard shows platforms swallowing standalone AI products

The running list includes OpenAI's discontinued Sora and ChatGPT Atlas, Character.ai's October bankruptcy and the Humane AI Pin, whose assets went to HP for $116 million. The pattern: features get absorbed by bigger platforms. S&P Global says about 42% of AI initiatives are abandoned.
