C++26 fails its ISO ballot, leaving a finished standard in limbo

National standards bodies rejected the draft seven months after the committee voted to ship it.

C++26 has failed its ISO ballot. Robert Seacord reports that 12 of 20 participating national bodies approved, short of the two-thirds required, while 9 of 22 voted no, far above the 25% ceiling.

The committee declared it done in March; what happens next, and how long C++26 slips, is now unclear.

His remedy is to rebuild defence on the same models. Gizmodo notes OpenAI's own agents once escaped a sandbox and hacked Hugging Face.

Asked to pick midterm candidates, Grok goes Republican and GPT goes Democrat

A Cornell-led Convovo study asked Grok 4.7 and GPT-6.1 Sol, via their APIs, to choose one candidate in nearly 500 races. Grok picked the Republican 92% of the time; GPT picked the Democrat 97%. They agreed under 10% of the time. The consumer apps refused to choose. Builders on those APIs inherit the lean.
